2 ‘Dit zegt de HEER van de hemelse machten: Ik brand van liefde voor Sion; met vurige liefde neem Ik het voor haar op.
3 Dit zegt de HEER: Ik keer terug naar de Sion en kom in Jeruzalem wonen. Jeruzalem zal Stad van trouw heten, en de berg van de HEER van de hemelse machten Heilige berg.
4 Dit zegt de HEER van de hemelse machten: Opnieuw zullen er op de pleinen van Jeruzalem oude mannen en vrouwen zitten, elk met een stok in de hand vanwege hun hoge leeftijd, 5 en de straten zullen krioelen van de spelende jongens en meisjes.
7 Dit zegt de HEER van de hemelse machten: Ik zal mijn volk bevrijden uit het land waar de zon opkomt en uit het land waar de zon ondergaat 8 en hen naar Jeruzalem brengen. Daar zullen ze wonen. Zij zullen mijn volk zijn en Ik hun God, in onwankelbare trouw.
9 Dit zegt de HEER van de hemelse machten: Nu jullie deze woorden uit de mond van de profeten hebben gehoord, moeten jullie volhouden. Het huis van de HEER van de hemelse machten is nu gegrondvest; de herbouw van de tempel is begonnen.
